The process to deploy Sketchup involves downloading the standalone Sketchup installer and deploying the installation via a BCX MSI Package Task.

Download

Direct download link for Sketchup (SketchUpMake-en.exe):

http://www.sketchup.com/download/all

Start the SketchUpMake-en.exe file on a test computer and immedietely open run command and type:

%temp%

This should take you to your computer's temporary directory, which is: C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Local\Temp

Note: You may need to enable hidden folders view. To do this, go to Control Panel and select Folder Options. Within the new dialog, select the View tab and click the bulleted Show hidden files, folders, and drives. Click Ok. (You could also use 7zip to extract the MSI if preferred).

When the directory opens, go into a folder called 7zS87B8.tmp or similar and copy the SketchUpxxxx.msi file to your packages$ share or distribution point.

eg \\servername\packages$\MSI\Sketch Up.

(If the extraction finishes before copying, the folder becomes sketchup_install.)

Installation Instructions

You can now create an MSI Install package task to deploy Sketch Up.

After adding the task, only assign to a few individual testing stations to test deployment
