Adobe Flash Player

The process to deploy or upgrade Adobe Flash Player (ActiveX and Plugin) involves downloading the standalone Adobe Flash Player ActiveX and Plugin installers and deploying the installations via two BCX MSI Package Tasks.

Download

Adobe software can be downloaded from their website, but you will only be given an .exe file, which will make the process more difficult when trying to add it to BCX Network Management Tools as a Package Task.

Therefore, you will need to apply for an Adobe Distribution License, which is free and enables you to download the MSI file that can be added as a Package Task. All that is required is that you spend a few minutes filling out a form. Adobe will send you an e-mail with direct download links to the requested MSI files for their software.

Visit this link to apply for an Adobe Distribution License, and tick which software you would like to distribute or obtain the .msi file for:

Next, you need to copy the install_flash_player_xx_active_x.msi and install_flash_player_xx_plugin.msi files to your packages$ share or distribution point.

eg \\servername\packages$\MSI\Adobe Flash

If the installation file has been downloaded from the Internet it now needs to be unblocked.

Create Package Task

You can now create two MSI Install package task types to deploy Adobe Flash Player ActiveX and Adobe Flash Player Plugin.

See: Deploying an MSI Package Task in the online manual.

After adding the task, only assign to a few individual testing stations to test deployment
