How to install the BCX File Server Connector

The File Server Connector is installed on file servers where users home directories are shared. It facilitates the creation of home directories for users when they are created, sets permissions and shares them automatically in the way that is specified in the User Template. It also feeds back any quota information to the manager in the user properties, and can show the user their quota statistics upon login.

The File Server Connector requires .NET 2.0 & 3.0, and File Server Resource Manager. Both can be added through Server Manager or using PowerShell.

The setup file can be found by browsing to \\bcxmaster\c$\Program Files (x86)\BCX\File ServerConnectorSetup\

Follow the setup wizard, changing the file path if needed.

During setup a few command prompt windows will display briefly, this is normal and is part of the service registration and firewall rule additions. When setup is complete, check that the connector service is registered with the server service by opening Settings from the file menu in the manager and going to the Connector Services tab.
